 Beth Kalikoff grew up in New Jersey and Connecticut. She has worked as a short-order cook, restaurant host, and waitron. Her poetry and nonfiction have won national awards. Currently, she teaches writing at the University of Washington's Tacoma campus.
Although Beth has a Ph.D. in English, she's normal. Unlike Jewel, she's not much of a cook; her specialty is "three things on a plate." She lives with her husband and dog.
